Bringing Languages to Life the Ole Spanish Way

Writer: Daniel K TorresDaniel K Torres

At Ole Spanish for Everyone, we believe that learning a language is about more than just words—it’s about connection, culture, and creativity. Our bilingual books are designed to bring Spanish into homes in a meaningful way, but we recently discovered they’re doing even more than that!

Meet Maialen, a talented eight-year-old who lives in the Basque Country, in the north of Spain, with her bilingual family who speaks both Spanish and Euskera. Her journey with our bilingual books has been nothing short of inspiring. Initially, her aunt gifted her one of our books so she could read in Spanish with her Spanish-speaking grandmother. However, Maialen took it a step further—she used the book to start learning English! We were amazed to see her enthusiasm and dedication, even going as far as copying out English sentences on her own. Muy bien, Maialen! Oso ondo, Maialen!

Maialen’s story perfectly illustrates what we strive for at Ole Spanish for Everyone. Our termly bilingual books provide a unique opportunity for families to share language learning together. These books not only reinforce the vocabulary children learn in our classrooms, but they also create special moments for parents and kids to read together in the evening.

This term, our featured book is Los 3 Cerditos, and it’s a hit with our current students! The story comes with a unique twist, and the vocabulary is thoughtfully linked to the home environment, making it both educational and engaging. Children love rediscovering this beloved tale while expanding their language skills in a fun and interactive way.

Just like Maialen, children can read, copy sentences, and illustrate their understanding—turning learning into an interactive and joyful experience. In today’s world of screens and instant apps that give a false sense of learning, our books help children engage with language in a deeper, more meaningful way. There’s something truly priceless about belonging to a club where children interact, grow, and bring their learning home in the form of a book.

If you want to purchase our termly book, please talk to your teacher and he/she will provide you with the latest termly book. If you are not an Ole Spanish for Everyone's client yet, you can get hold of your books by emailing admin@olespanish.net and we will send you our catalog.

So, to Maialen and all our little language learners—Oso ondo! Muy bien! Very well done! Keep exploring, keep learning, and keep making language an adventure!
